Plastic and rejuvenating operations in OdessaGenioplasty For many centuries well-developed and clearly defined facial features were considered to be the attributes of physical beauty. At all times prominent cheekbones and lightly emerging chin have been the attributes of balanced and proportional face. People who lacked these natural “merit badges” found the only minor relief – makeup – for a long time. All instructions concerning cheek colours application point at a special necessity to stress the cheekbones, and this fact just confirms high importance of this feature for creation of aesthetically attractive, proportional balance of the face, and that this feature is rather undeveloped for people. Now, thanks to modern technologies, there is a safe method which permits to achieve permanent correction of underdeveloped chin and to get clearly cut cheekbones men and women of the whole world dream of. Chin augmentation or mentoplasty and plasty of jugal areas or chin implants – all these are aesthetic (cosmetic) surgeries dedicated to improve face contours and to get more attractive appearance. These surgeries are successfully performed for correction of congenital asymmetry or facial skeleton defects. Chin contour plasty is often recommended to be performed in combination with nasal plasty, to get more harmonic and aesthetically regular profile. Patients undergoing augmenting plastic surgery of jugal areas at the age of 38-50 years may get not only improved contour of the middle facial zone, but also lightly lifted tissues of this area (which shift with aging) having postponed the circular facial plasty. Facelift combined with jugal areas plasty ensures more long-lasting surgery results. To define indications for the surgery you should individually consult a doctor. How safe is the surgery? Contour plasty of chin and cheekbones usually anticipates usage of the implants made of non-toxic abiological materials (special types of silicon or polytetrafluoroethylene) or cartilaginous tissue. These are practically-tried highly safe materials causing no allergic reactions. Prefabricated implants have various sizes and shapes and are selected individually for each patient; implants made of cartilaginous tissue are modelled by the surgeon individually in the process of the surgery. How is the surgery performed? The surgery is performed under local anaesthesia or phlebonarcosis. Incisions are made in natural folds on the skin surface or inside the mouth and become almost negligible shortly after the surgery. No need to stay in the clinic. Recommendations for postsurgical period are standard: to stay motionless, to apply cold onto the place of the surgical intervention during first 24 hours after the surgery, light fixing bondage for 2-3 days, and limitation of heavy physical activity for a month after the surgery. What can occur after the surgery? First several days after the surgery may show minor edema and temporary dismasesis. No allergic reactions are observed. Other complications (blood tumour, excessive cicatrisation) are very rare.
